Criteria for Proposal Review:

A list of criteria will be used to evaluate the grant applications. In order to increase the chances of selection applicants should try to address the following details: 

  • Compatibility of proposed research or advocacy with priority topics and themes.
  • Appropriateness and rigor of the proposed methodology.
  • Projects geared towards assessment of service delivery with focus on operational or systems research and social research.
  • Alignment with in-country research & advocacy.
  • Innovative and original concept which does not duplicate ongoing or previous initiatives.
  • Relevant research based evidence that justifies proposed advocacy initiatives.
  • Ethical considerations in research application.
  • Overall quality of the application, including implementation, monitoring and evaluation plans,  and compliance to RAF guidelines.
  • Cost-effectiveness and value for money.
  • Skills and experience of the key people involved in project implementation and monitoring.
